Autumn
A Snapshot of the Various Seasons of Our Life !

T he recent Harvest Full Moon where the moon is nearest the autumnal equinox , and when the sun crosses the celestial equator in a southerly direction marking the beginning of the autumn season , was indeed a beautiful sight . It also reminded me of what my Malaysian mom , Nyah , taught me when I was a teenager about the various seasons that we go through in life .
Nyah grew up in the rice fields of Melaka , Malaysia . From a farming perspective , she explained that we have the plowing season , the planting season , the watering season , and the harvesting season . How well the land is plowed will determine the type of crop planted on it , and how well the crop is watered will determine the size and bountifulness of the harvest .
Pivoting the conversation to us and our daily routine , Nyah pointed out that we go through these various seasons each year as we move through life . How well we prepare our inner self will determine the type of project we will accomplish , and how well we nurture it will determine the level of success , we will achieve .
During the plowing , planting , and watering seasons , there will always be unexpected challenges . The various difficulties provide us with choices we need to make . These decisions will undoubtedly affect the outcome of the harvest .
