there are misses among the hits, no worries. It is all about how we process them as a wonderful layup for spectacular forward movement.
One of the most empowering pieces of advice my Italian foster mom, Carol, shared with me during a challenging period of my life was this:“ It is not the circumstances in life that matter, but how we respond to them. If we aim to change the world, we must first learn to respond to it rather than simply reacting to it!”
By embracing her recipe for living at heart, I realized that I am the one who creates the joy and happiness I wish to experience. Carol helped me understand that“ Living a successful life is about being in the moment with flexibility and having a growth mindset. Although I have made plans, life can change them. Reminding myself that I can pivot my trajectory to better align with my life’ s needs will eventually result in my achieving what my heart’ s desire.”
Carol’ s recipe for living truly complemented my Malaysian mom Nyah’ s evergreen advice on life experiences, which she shared with me when I was 18, just before I left home to attend Louisiana State University.“ Since childhood, you have been exposed to all kinds of experiences, and now you are about to embark on your life ' s journey, where you will continue to encounter and gain new ones. Some experiences, good or bad, will stay with you for the rest of your life. However, it is how you manage them that will ultimately determine your idea of success or failure in both your personal and professional life.”
The above recipes for living life taught me to focus and live in the present moment. During moments of reflection and introspection, they reminded me to celebrate achievements, no matter how small. When I embrace my midyear blessings, my thoughts and energy align, forming a creative foundation for the days, weeks, and months ahead. As you can see, the summer smiles of our midyear blessings offer a rejuvenating, refreshing perspective on future plans and a happy, joyous future.
Although it can be challenging to stay focused on the good amid so many distractions from background noise about politics, the economy, war, and unsettling climate change, when we focus on our“ Me Time,” our happiness becomes a“ Joyful Magnet” that draws everyone who wants

to be in our company. The positive, reverberating energy serves as a beacon of hope for everyone in our community, as“ Life doesn’ t get better by Chance; it gets better by Design!”
As a positive thinker, I am always solutionoriented. Respectfully, I know not everyone is wired that way, as we are all born with a unique divine fingerprint. The good news is that whether we have tapped out or are on the brink of doing so, each day offers us a brand-new page to redesign ourselves. When we allow our hearts to lead, passion rejuvenates our minds, bodies, and spirits.
As I gleefully smile, recalling beautiful, playful, cozy, and fun memories to begin my rejuvenation, I remember these delightful, blessed moments in silence and feel refreshed and excited again. This nurturing of my heart-centered self gives me the empowering energy, strength, courage, and confidence to continue with my new action plans from a fresh perspective.
This profound silence, a contemplation of our midyear blessed moments that honor and celebrate our past and present achievements, will empower us to navigate the rest of the year with positivity, especially after unexpected setbacks in recent weeks or months. Consciously living in the moment, with the help of huge summer smiles, will always position us perfectly to redesign our future and experience the magical harmony of Joyful Living 360!
