wears many hats . She is a mother , a business owner , an author , and a life coach . Being a mom has been the greatest , most rewarding one . Besides seeing her son , Zander , thriving , she is joyful about motherhood . Alysia ' s personal motherhood journey began when she said yes to a home-based business after being fed up with Corporate America . She was attracted to the freedom and flexibility of working for herself . One of Alysia ' s most rewarding contributions to life is giving life . After finding out the difficulties families faced in having babies , she decided to become a surrogate mom for parents who wanted a family but were facing maternity challenges . Alysia tapped into her motherly instinct and realized she could make a difference in these families ' lives . Acting on her maternal love , she became a surrogate mom for four fortunate families and , with the last one , gave birth to twin girls . Alysia returns with an inspiring story about her life ’ s journey as a surrogate mom and how the experience led her to write a book to help people understand the surrogacy journey and everyone who is involved in the process with her insightful story , “ Creating Little Miracles : What It ’ s Really Like to Be a Surrogate ,” in our Mom Support Group section . is a 12-year-old student living in Tbilisi , Georgia . She attends Green School , a private education institution whose vision is to produce globallyminded , active generations with high-quality teaching and learning . Green School ' s mission is to raise a better future generation together with the school community through quality education . Inspired by this , Elene has many friends worldwide through playing Roblox , and her love for creative writing , which the Morocco Pens have published , has also contributed to her global outreach . Elene also enjoys reading , especially comedy books , and spending time with her pet bird Kiki . Her mother , Nino , introduced her to reading when she was little , which led to her passion for writing . Elene is the newest contributor to our magazine and intends to inspire everyone by sharing her life experiences living in Tbilisi . On the cusps of being a teenager , she is a dynamic tween who enjoys expressing her ideas , experiences , and , more importantly , what she is learning in and out of the classroom . Elene returns to share with us a snapshot of her daily life living in Tbilisi as a high school student with her delightful story , “ A Day in My Life as a Seventh Grader in Tbilisi ,” for her unique “ My Life in Tbilisi ” column in our Global Village section .

She has spent over 30 years researching family dynamics and how our early relationships and environments influence our lives . As the “ Holistic Children Radio ” podcaster , Cathi provides techniques and tools to support families ’ emotional , spiritual , physical , financial , and environmental health . She is also the author of the original “ Me + U ” Interactive Journal Series , which helps parents , children , couples , and colleagues crack open communication in their unique way . As our Kitchen Table Conversations host , Cathi believes our homes should provide a living area that reflects our authenticity and a life lived on purpose .
