When was the last time you were at “ the right place at the right time ” to act kindly to help others in need ?
With gratitude and blessings always , Johnny
Besides being excited to extend our gratitude and thankfulness to someone or a situation that has contributed to our happiness , blessings , and abundance , it also draws the best in us as we reflect on the selfless deed we had the chance to bestow on others !
The beauty of the season of gratitude and thankfulness also includes the reminder that we , somehow , somewhere , and with gracious intentions , can create opportunities to receive blessings from others every day . For example , “ When was the last time you were at “ the right place at the right time ” to act kindly to help others in need ? Acts of kindness clearly show your true innate human intention at its best when you go out of your way to contribute to someone else ' s happiness and be a blessing in their life .
When I was a kid , my mom taught me that our conscious action in responding to a situation of wanting to be helpful and assist others is sparked by our divine nature within us . For mom , simple acts of kindness , such as getting a glass of water for Grandma while she is sitting in her favorite chair or climbing a stepladder to reach up to the top of the kitchen cabinet to retrieve our family ' s favorite once-a-year serving platter for the upcoming holiday season , were acts of kindness . Over the years , acts of kindness have brought me tremendous joy . Whenever the opportunity arises , our subconscious operates unselfishly to nourish and contribute to our spiritual superpower .
My latest experience of kindness occurred last month , and it was a definite joyful moment . As usual , it was that time of the evening when I had to rush to the local 7-Eleven to buy my Powerball ticket , LOL ! Upon arriving , I saw a couple in their late sixties working on their car battery with the hood up . They were still at it when I came out after buying my ticket . They were trying to remove the old battery without success . I walked over and offered them the use of my jumper cables to start the car so the lady could drive to the nearest auto store to buy a new battery . The gentleman , her brother , had driven 5 miles to help her but hadn ’ t successfully gotten the old battery out of its housing .
After hooking up my jumper cable to her car battery and his truck , we successfully got her car running again . Although I didn ’ t win the
Powerball that night , the genuine thanks and loving handshakes of gratitude I received were the “ Kindness Jackpot Win ” for me . I had contributed to their happiness and smiled my way to sleep . By the way , in case you are looking to make a big splash in your act of kindness , November 13th is World Kindness Day . So , prepare yourself to put a smile on someone ' s face and yours !
