Happy March, Everyone! Standing on the cusp of Spring, we are also celebrating women’s contributions to our world’s history, culture, and society. I have been extremely fortunate to have had nine extraordinary women who have nurtured and nourished my heart, mind, body, and spirit from the day I was born to becoming the person I am today. I am forever grateful for these ladies, my 9 Moms, who were my teachers, coaches, counselors, and cheerleaders. They profoundly impacted my life with the power of unconditional love, helping me navigate life and, most importantly, always reminding me to laugh by finding humor in everything I do.
This year’s Women’s History Month theme is “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.” At its core, it broadens our understanding of sustainability beyond the environment to include financial sustainability, community resilience, leadership succession, and intergenerational equity. The theme asserts that shaping a sustainable future requires building systems that support both people and the planet.
International Women’s Day on March 8th has the theme “Give To Gain,” emphasizing the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, it is not a subtraction; it’s intentional multiplication. Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, giving helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.
We at From My Mama’s Kitchen® Org have always been excited to do what we can to lead the change toward building a better world, believing in giving and sharing our knowledge and wisdom to help establish a lasting legacy of love for future generations to benefit from and carry forward.
Honoring my 9 Moms and empowered by the understanding that “Personal Success Begins at Home” and that moms are the COOs, if not the CEOs, of their families, Inspirations for Better
Living digital magazine was conceived and designed to support moms on their journey as influencers within their families and among their loved ones!
Since our first edition, our women expert contributors have shared their unique stories to help other women live lives of total selfempowerment, success, and prosperity. When a mom feels great, empowered, and happy, that energy ripples through her circle of influence - her family, neighborhood, and community. This positive energy is how we solve current challenges and inspire future achievements as a global family.
Since 2009, I have delivered experiential keynotes and workshop presentations advocating “Personal Success Begins at Home” to the corporate world and community organizations, both of which have benefited from my extensive C-suite background and life experiences. In the coming months, we, as a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, will launch our From My Mama’s Kitchen® Genius Zone Educational Platform Community Enrichment Programs nationwide and internationally.
Joining me will be our expert contributors (past and present). We look forward to supporting the success of individuals and organizations across the communities we collaborate with, helping everyone live and perform in their Genius Zone. Sometimes in life, we just need a little nudge to begin our journey of leading ourselves and making changes within and around us. In the dance of “Giving and Gaining,” someone has to take the “Lead” to initiate the process. Below is a recipe for living from my German mom, Dianne, that has always inspired and empowered me to take the “First Step…”
“Occasionally, a situation arises that requires us to act with compassion and love towards others. Until we try to put ourselves beyond our comfort zone, we will not realize we have what it takes to make a difference in that person’s life and in ours.”
