NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER

Happy September , everyone ! Finally , we in the northern hemisphere are experiencing a little cooler weather as we welcome Fall this month after a scorching Summer . Come to think of it , I am sure our southern hemisphere global neighbors are also looking forward to their Spring season . One thing is for sure : regardless of where you live , Mother Earth has set the stage for all of us to get into the seasonal mindset of reflection and reset so that we can experience the best upcoming three months !

This Fall , I am reminded of a funny story from a speaking presentation I gave years ago at a national franchise corporate annual meeting .

I was the COO representing a franchisee whose territory covers Louisiana ' s central and southern areas . I was asked to speak about how I improved our franchise organization in the last 12 months , positioning our company on a growth trajectory of opening two to three restaurants yearly . In the speech , I used the analogy of “ as mother nature would have it , even the trees knew seasonally once a year , for lack of a better term , to shake their dead wilted leaves off themselves as they reset for the upcoming season .” Needless to say , at the end of the presentation and for the remainder of the meeting week , I was known as “ Johnny Shake The Tree Tan .” It was a compliment
