my best effort, often because the timing is off. I also learned to cherish every achievement, no matter how small, as they contribute to my happiness and pave the way for greater success.
My Ballroom Dance Instructor mom, Betty, once told me, quoting her favorite movie line from Strictly Ballroom,“ A life lived in fear is a life halflived.” She helped me overcome doubts about specific issues I was dealing with at the time that required a leap of faith.
Betty continued by saying,“ When we learn to empower ourselves to change how we see things, we will realize that our inner power is stronger than external forces, and we are prepared to change our situation. When positive changes come from within, we have achieved the right positive vision.”
Since then, I have effectively used my mind and inner guidance to manifest my dreams and overcome obstacles.

My Southern Belle mom, Eleanora, taught me that perseverance and patience always help us overcome personal self-inflicted anxiety. Eleanora believes that“ You should never be afraid to change your mind. It shows maturity, intelligence, and character to admit mistakes rather than stand firm on an ill-informed decision.”
Over the years, I have paused and taken breaks many times whenever things get tough. Surprisingly, within days, I find myself filled with renewed energy and focus, ready to start again with great enthusiasm!
My Italian Foster mom, Carol, with her many wise and logical approaches to situations, taught me that“ Time is a luxury, and having faith that the right thing will come along at the right time and in the right way is a belief I should make room for in my life.”
Her advice has helped me stay patient as I carefully work on my daily tasks and goals. The process taught me to pass up opportunities that initially seemed perfect but eventually faded after not standing the test of time.

As I reflect on the various Fall seasons over the years of my life’ s journey, I am grateful that my moms( Nyah, Betty, Eleanora, and Carol), in their unique and articulate ways, were my best teachers, coaches, counselors, and cheerleaders. Collectively, they helped me take many leaps of faith and land steadily on my feet each time as we celebrated the joy I experienced.
Their life wisdom reassured me that all I need is endurance, effort, and dedication to reach my goals. As I build a strong foundation for my future, making conscious choices will always help me create new beginnings filled with plenty of opportunities.
I hope that a snippet of my story, along with those shared by our expert contributors in this edition, will serve as inspiration, guiding you to trust your inner wisdom as you navigate your life ' s path. Please remind yourself that patience, persistence, and a focus on the insights gained from your experiences will always help you achieve success and harmony, leading you to live in your sweet spot of life.
With gratitude and blessings always! Johnny
